THIS IS A 5-PIECE BAND FROM DOWN IN THE VALLEY OF KENTUCKY. THEY WERE CALLED OUT TO THE STAGE, I EXPECTED A GRAND INTRO, NOT JUST CASUALLY WALKING INTO THEIR PLACES ONSTAGE. I LATER FIND OUT THE LEAD SINGER IS SICK. OK I UNDERSTAND THAT, THE COMBO OF THE MUSIC AN VOX FUCKIN ROCK BUT AS FOR STAGE PERFORMANCE, THEY FAIL! ROB WAS THE ONLY MOVEMENT ONSTAGE, I EVEN HEARD FROM THE CROWD THAT HE LOOKED LIKE AN ASS UP THERE, BUT I BEG TO DIFFER. ROB IS A ROCKSTAR. LOVED THE SOUND OF THE MUSIC AN VOXS, DEVELOP A BETTER STAGE PRESENCE AN YA'LL WILL GET THE CROWD MORE INVOLVED. ALL I CAN OFFER AT THIS TIME IS 1 ROUND OF JAGER 3:1.

IF THERE IS ANY BAND OUT THERE THAT DESERVES TO BE CALLED A POST PANTERA TRIBUTE BAND, THIS IS THE ONE. STRAIGHT UP OUT OF DANVILLE, KENTUCKY, YA'LL I GIVE YA MEDUSA DIESEL! NOT ONLY DID THEY MAKE MY ICON LIST BUT THEY ARE ALSO FEATURED AS THE REDNECK REVIEW GUY'S BAND OF THE MONTH! THIS BAND HAS IT ALL, HUGE FAN BASE, AWESOME MUSIC WITH THE RUSTIC POWER VOX'S FROM SCOTT, IT'S NO WONDER THE CHAIRS ARE EMPTY! HE HAS A VOICE THAT WILL DRAW THE CROWD IN CLOSE. BANDS ALL AROUND SHOULD COME TO A MEDUSA DIESEL SHOW AN WATCH AN LEARN, MY FAVORITE SONG FROM THEM IS "NO SUN" AN HEARIN IT LIVE IS A BIGGER THRILL FOR ME. BONGOS IN METAL? SORRY NO ROOM FOR THAT. NOW HE DID DO SOME WHIPPIN ON THAT SNARE DRUM WHICH WAS OK, BUT THE BONGOS NEVER AGAIN! MUSIC WISE, NOT BAD, YA'LL DIDN'T MOVE ME MUCH AN I MUST SAY I WASN'T IMPRESSED AN I DON'T THINK THE CROWD WAS INTO IT MUCH EITHER, CUZ MOST OF THEM WERE OUTSIDE! GIT RID OF THE BONGOS AN TRY AGAIN! I would have to agree with your review of shatterbox, they are lackluster to say the least. I would also add that they sound just like every other band out there, they try to much to sound like seether, three days grace, breaking benjamine...well you get the idea, all their songs sound the same to me and alot like songs that are already out there. still not a bad bar band
Well first I have to say that its not easy to get animated when you sick, secondly they are a 4 piece band hello are you blind! Luke sang his heart out sat. night even though he was sick, they normally are very animated, but these guys are laid back and easy going, go to the saloon you'll see. In my opion if your gonna leave a comment good/bad have the balls to leave your name, chicken shit. These guess are very talented musicians and DO NOT sound like everyother band out there, they are better, first band here in KY that has impressed me and ALOT of people I know. Jeremy is one of the best drummers I have seen in a while, these guys love to play and you can really tell!!!! And you know if you could understand what Madusa Deisle was saying they would have been better.
I agree, that if you're going to review a band, at least know how many members are in the band. As a Shatterbox fan, i may seem a bit biased, but thats the way the cookie crumbles. For one, A1A never seems to get the sound right when they play there, i dont get to see every Shatterbox show, but the ones ive seen at A1A always have some type of sound difficulty, not related to the band themselves.
I do agree that the band could be more animated and crowd-drawing-however, Luke was not feeling well and these are all laidback guys anyway. Rob is a total rock star, i love how into the music he gets, he totally rocks every show. Jarami is a fantastic drummer with a ton of gusto, Lukes voice gives me chills, and Sean is extremely talented and cool. Even with the technicalities, i think they sounded great, and i especially love when they play their own stuff, which in itself is very powerful.
Come down to the Sterling Saloon and give em another chance to impress you-you wont be dissapointed! First local band in years that i have approved of. Jill, aka Scandalous

I have never gotten to hear shatterbox with the exception of myspace, but I've heard lots of good things about them. Hear they have a good live sound and work hard. Gotta repect that! We ever get a weekend off I'm going to go show some support!
Medusa Diesel is a crowd pleaser to say the least. They fuckin Rock! Hope to wind up on the same bill with them sometime.
I've heard of 12 gauge hoedown, but not had a chance to check them out yet.
Overall, even though it's apparent I've not agreed with Redneck in the past, he has a right to his opinion just like everyone reading this. I have to say this site is very good for local bands. Especially the ones out there busting their asses. Brings attention to them which is important whether the review is good or bad. Much appreciation to you Redneck for the time you spend on it. I can think of nobody else in the business that takes the time to post pertaining to the local music scene.
Take my hat off to Medusa Diesel, much deserving! Rich & Cindy, I would settle for a cookout! Redneck! HORNS HIGH FUCKER! :)
